THE STRADA "VARIO" AND "DUO" ALL-PURPOSE SADDLES

"DUO"                        "VARIO"

The Strada "Vario" and Strada "Duo" are direct relatives to the "Vienna" dressage and the "St.Christopher" endurance saddles. They are built on the same tree and have the same panels (details in product info).

The seat of the "Vario" is identical to that of the dressage and endurance models, but the flaps are moderately forward cut. The "Duo" has a cantle which slopes back just a  little more than that of the other saddles, its flaps are slightly more forward than those of the "Vario".

Both the "Vario" and the "Duo" are genuine all-round saddles, but they address different needs and preferences. The "Vario" is usually preferred by riders of a smaller build, or those who don't ride all that short when  jumping. It is also more suitable for smaller horses, where a more forward flap would extend too far over the shoulder. The "Duo" is usually chosen by riders who like more space for their knee and who prefer the more sloping cantle, which gives a little extra room in the seat.

At Strada we realise that any GP is a compromise for the rider, since it is neither a dressage nor a jumping saddle. Nevertheless, many riders choose a GP, either because they do not wish to specialise in any particular discipline, or their budget does not permit two saddles and they accept that an all-purpose saddle has some limitations.

However, there is no need for any multi-discipline saddle to be a compromise for the horse. The "Duo" and "Vario" are all-purpose saddles which offer the same accurate fit and superior comfort as the Strada specialist models.

They enable the horse to move without restriction in all paces, whether in the dressage arena, over jumps or across country. Unlike many other saddles, they will not lift at the back just as the horse rounds himself nicely over a jump and will therefore not come back down with a thump as he lands. They will also be totally stable on your horse's back if you are out on a hack and need to lean down to open a gate.
